Apollo Travel Agency was opened in 1969 by Demos Fotopoulos. An international attorney and translator by trade; Mr. Fotopoulos started Apollo to help fulfill the business needs of a growing ethnic community. In 1974, Mr. Fotopoulos was joined by Apollo’s current chief officer, Katherine Prezas. With the help of her business and accounting background, Apollo Travel quickly became a main player in the corporate and consolidation travel industry in Chicago. Servicing clients such as Peterson Ross, National Bank of Greece, Citi Bank Financial, and the US States Attorney’s office, Apollo earned a reputation as one of the premier full service agencies in the country. As Apollo grew, thousands of agencies and hundreds of small and medium sized corporations nationwide relied on Apollo Travel’s consolidation department for the lowest international prices. Currently Apollo operates a complete web based consolidation site at www.apollofares.com and provides 100% agent support for all reservations. Having never forgotten their heritage, Apollo Travel had long been offering private and group tours to the Mediterranean Islands. In 1987 Apollo Travel opened an office dedicated to expanding tour operations in the Mediterranean and beyond. In 1995 Azzam Hajyousif, joined Apollo as their new director of operations. President of Global Travel Inc. since 1989, Mr. Hajyousif utilized his operational and sales skills to help increase Apollo’s volume over 400% in just 3 years. Apollo soon became one of the nation’s most technically advanced agencies in the industry, and we currently operate the largest all web-based brick and mortar agency in the country. Cliqbook - Cliqbook offers flexible online travel booking and management that can be modified and layered to specifically fit each employee’s personal travel preferences, their corporation’s policies and guidelines, in addition to further layers of policy management. Reservation Center - At Apollo, we ensure our clients are in the best of hands with a dedicated and professional staff that averages over 12 years of corporate travel industry experience. If a new seat or lower fare opens up, the reservation is sent to an agent where they will review the itinerary and make the necessary steps to either rebook or contact the client if necessary. Seat Checker - Seat checker ensures the proper seat preference has been confirmed, if not, seat checker will try to book the correct seat until the flight reverts to airport control. E-ticket Tracker - TicketTracker is an automated system that can track, identify and report on all unused e-tickets. It also enables the delivery of a message to a traveler with a nonrefundable e-ticket, notifying them of the “use or lose” status of the ticket prior to travel. Reminding the travelers to cancel unused flights prior to departure, allows them to reuse the tickets providing future travel savings to your company.
